Tomato Rice
Ingredients:
Cooked Rice - 1 plate
Onions - 1 chopped
Tomatoes - 4 Chopped
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
salt to taste
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon.
Chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon.
Garam Masala - 1/4 teaspoon.(optional).
For seasoning:
Oil - 1 tablespoon.
mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
Urad dal - 1 teaspoon.
Bengal gram dal - 1 teaspoon.
Red chilly - 2
Curry leaves - few.
Method:
- Heat oil in the pan , then add mustard seeds when it starts spluttering add the seasoning ingredients one after the other.
- Now add onions ,saute them nicely till it turns golden brown and add ginger garlic paste
- Next add the tomatoes ,turmeric powder,chilly powder ,garam masala and saute them till the tomatoes turn mushy.
- Adding garam masala will bring the smell of biriyani (little) .
- Close the pan with lid and cook for 10 minutes and keep stiring so that it doesn't get burnt.
- Switch off the flame, Add the cooked rice and mix thoroughly .
Delicious Tomato rice is ready.
