Spicy Paniyaram (Dumplings)



Ingredients 

Idly batter- 3 cups.

For seasoning :

Oil - 2 tablespoon
Mustard seeds -  1 teaspoon.
Urad dal - 1 table spoon.
Ginger  - 1/2 inch chopped
Curry leaves few
Onions - 1 chopped
Hing/asofetida - 1/2 teaspoon.
Green chilies - 2 chopped.

Method:
  • Heat pan with little oil and add mustard seeds as it starts spluttering add urad dal .
  • When urad dal turns lightly brown add curry leaves and onions, 
  • Saute Onions till soft and add ginger ,green chilies and finally add hing.
  • Switch off the flame.
  • Add  this seasoning to Idly batter .
  • Heat the paniyaram pan with little oil
  • Pour the batter in pan. Flip over the dumplings to  other side .

Now delicious spicy paniyaram is ready to serve.
