Cheera Curry Receipe






Ingredients :
  • Green/Red spinach(Cheera) - 1 bunch
  • Moong dal       - 1/2 cup
  • Shallots- 3 no(cut into small pieces)
  • Tomato -1 
  • Green chillies - 3 nos(sliced)
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - As reqd 

For seasoning:-

  • Coconut oil - 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Small onions(Kunjulli) - 4 nos
  • Curry leaves - A few

Method :
  • Wash and clean the spinach well.
  • Separate the leaves from the stem and cut them to small sections.
  • Pressure cook moong dal ,shallots,chillies,tomato.
  • Then add the spinach to the dal .
  • Do not close the lid while cooking spinach.
  • Add half tablespoon red chilly powder,tamarind pulp and salt 
  • Bring this to boil and start seasoning.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan or a kadai.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add the chopped small onions and curry leaves.
  • Saute, till the onions turn golden brown.
  • Pour the seasoning over the curry and mix well.
Tasty Cheera curry ready.
