Puliogare



Ingredients:

Tamarind - 1 lemon size.
Soaked in water.
Cooked rice - 1 plate
turmeric powder - 1 pinch
Salt - to taste.

for grinding:

Urad dal  -1 teaspoon
Bengal gram (split) - 1 teaspoon.
Red chilies- 3 to 4.
Fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoon


For seasoning:

Gingely oil - 2 tablespoon.
Urad dal  -1 teaspoon
Bengal gram (split) - 1 teaspoon.
Red chilies- 3 to 4.
Asofetida(hing) - 1/4 teaspoon.
Mustard seeds - 1/4 teaspoon.
Curry leaves - 5
Ground nut - 1 tablespoon.

Method:

  • Extract pulp from tamarind and keep aside.
  • Take a pan and add little oil and start frying the ingredients under for grinding.
  • When they turn golden brown, powder them in mixer/blender.
  • Now add oil to the pan when it is hot add mustard seeds,urad dal,bengal gram,red chilies,ground nuts,curry leaves and finally little asofetida.
  • Now add tamarind  pulp , turmeric powder  and salt.
  • Leave it on high flame for 10 to 15 minutes
  • Let the water in the gravy gets dry and it turns to pickle consistency.
  • Now mix the cooled rice to this gravy ,
  • Don't  mix it hardly , rice will become mushy.
  • Add the powdered ingredients to this rice now .


Now Tasty Puliogare is ready.
